Grand Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi Golpaygani, senior Iranian jurisprudent at a meeting with a group of cultural figures from Bushehr, south of Iran said "No knowledge in the world is more valuable than the teachings and guidelines of Ahlul Bayt(AS)".
He said, “If man wants real culture, then guidelines of Qur’an then guidelines of Ahlul Bayt (AS) including Nahjul Balagha (book including letters, sermons and recommendation of first Shia leader Imam Ali (AS), Al-Sahifa al-Sajjadiyya (book by Imam Sajjad (AS), fourth Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)) are what he is looking for.”
Iranian cleric in another part of his remarks said, “Prophets aimed at was to educate and train people because knowledge without training and morality is useless.”
He referred to the present oppressive rulers of the world and said the reason for the oppression is that the rulers have knowledge but no morality.
“The present oppressions in the US and European countries, contrary to technological and industrial development, is that they do not maintain morality and moral civilization,” said the religious figure adding, “They are caught in a series of corruptions and have no way out of them.”
He quoted a high ranking religious figure saying, “We are in need of the knowledge of religion and religion encourages us to learn knowledge though our more important necessity is learning the morals.”
Ayatollah Golpaygani also quoted Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) when he recommended Muslims to be independent and self-sufficient.
He demanded Muslims to set a moral example for everybody.
